i mean honestly i wouldn’t bet on this because ‘death note: another note’ wasn’t actually written by ohba and obata and i don’t know that they’d be invested enough in it to want to. i also don’t think that there’d be all this hype around it because, despite the fandom loving the fuck out of B, probably a lot of casual dn fans don’t even know what labb is, and as it’s not at all central or iconic the way L and light and ryuk are, i don’t think they’d have it as the focus of their SUPER SPECIAL UPDATE

that said, that doesn’t mean the update is definitely going to be about L and light (although MY VERY SOUL YEARNS FOR THIS MY SOUL GUYS MY SOUL). i’d say the most likely candidate at this point for 'definite appearance’ is near, if only bc he’s the only one alive

but then there’s all this speculation about the 'once dead’ line so WHO REALLY KNOWS?
