inarguably, imo the very best h/d fic out there is reparo by amalin. the characterization and development are impeccable and it’s just so satisfying and fits so well in canon

then pretty much the only fairly distant future fic that i really love (bc i generally don’t like them bc they’re often very distanced from the events of canon and that’s so frustrating bc it’s like I WANT YOU TO WORK OUT YOUR CANON ISSUES GODDAMMIT and preferably while being and stupid and stumbling and just out of a war) but the pure and simple truth by lettered is amazing and clever and lovely and more gen fic than anything else but IT MAKES ME SO HAPPY

then much shorter but very very good imo: of the heart’s fullness and of the coming emptiness by tout_a_coup

and this last one isn’t really my ideal in terms of h/d fic (bc reparo is nothing can beat reparo) it’s really fucked up and realistic and jagged and quiet and i like it a lot: that way lies camelot by scoradh and cynicalpirate

sorry this isn’t much i gutted basically every recs list i could find a year or so ago for h/d recs and these were the only ones that i REALLY LOVED and that really stuck with me
